Jedidiah Chavez

Jedidiah Chavez brings over 20 years of nonprofit leadership experience, specializing in fundraising, revenue generation, and partnership development.

As a consultant, Jedidiah works alongside community based organizations navigating leadership transitions. He has held Interim Director of Development and Executive Director roles with organizations ranging from an international youth symphony, to an LGBTQ+ advocacy organization, to an arts organization that supports adults with developmental disabilities, and many others.

Additionally, Jedidiah served as the Director of Community Engagement with Pride Foundation, an LGBTQ+ community foundation dedicated to supporting organizations and student leaders in the Northwest. In this role, he dramatically increased contributed revenue and was a member of the leadership team responsible for securing a transformative $3 million leadership gift from noted philanthropist, MacKenzie Scott.

From 2011-2017, Jedidiah was the Executive Director with Ethos, Inc., an Oregon-based nonprofit that brings music education to over 7,000 youth through statewide in-school programming in rural and urban areas. Jedidiah worked as the organization’s Development Director from 2007-2011 and was instrumental (pun intended) in raising funds to purchase and renovate Ethos’ 14-classroom music school.

Over the years, Jedidiah has also worked as an arts educator, both through teaching at the high school level and lecturing at numerous educational institutions including Whitman College. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History from the University of Northern Colorado and a Master of Fine Arts from Vermont College. In 2001, he was selected as an Alexander Foundation Fellow and has received awards and artist grants from both the Regional Arts and Culture Council and Oregon Humanities.

Actively involved in his community, Jedidiah has served on the Board of Directors for Oregon Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts, a pro bono attorney network providing legal services to underserved creatives in Oregon, as well as PHAME Academy, an organization devoted to celebrating and uplifting artists with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Jedidiah lives in North Portland with his husband, two rescue dogs, and an unreasonable number of books.
