Board Training and Planning:
NPN relies on the expertise of our staff and consulting teams to support nonprofits looking internally for professional development of their board and planning processes, as well as those looking externally at partnerships, community outreach, and SWOT analysis.
Whether an organization is searching for a specific trainer, a specific topic, or general planning support, our team is available for conversations to help you clarify your needs and opportunities for partnering.
Performance Evaluations:
As part of our director-level search services, NPN provides support for creating initial metrics for performance. These milestones are created with the organization and the new employee through frequent check-ins. But what happens after those initial metrics?
The NPN team has experience with setting metrics that support the organization’s 1-year and 2-year plans. We are available to talk through how the board’s vision is translated into work plans for the team, how they are reported and monitored, and what types of adaptations may be needed.
360 reviews for director-level staff and assessments of a board’s performance are also included in this category. Understanding external influences/needs as well as internal pressures can be helpful in evaluating a work plan.
Facilitating/Coaching through Change:
Because of NPN’s work with Executive Directors, Leadership Teams, and Boards, we have developed a skill-set in facilitating conversations focused on change. This could be: mergers, closures, sharing programs, or partnering. Or, it could be evaluating a social enterprise expansion, changing the focus of a program(s), adding staff or changing board structure.
This work is often done in partnership with legal teams, accountants, boards, and staff. NPN serves as the facilitator, guide, boundary holder, and question-asker. Often, this work is in conjunction with our other consulting work. It can be as simple as creating a plan for the organization team to follow, to implementing the plan with the organization.
